Influencers Need to Set a Better Example
Too many ridiculous videos.
Like seriously. If you watch a bunch of videos online which nowadays most of us do. You’ll see tons of different people doing the most ridiculous things for views and validation. One trend that was big for a while was NPC tik tok lives. Truthfully idk what this world has come to if pretending to be an NPC is actually considered a career choice now but this is getting out of hand. It takes the term influencer and completely destroys it.
Being an influencer isn’t about “do it for the views bro” Why are we doing it for the views in the first place?
As an influencer your job should be to influence others on topics or matters they might not already know, not doing something ridiculous or dangerous for attention just because you need validity. For example having a blog that talks about climate change and showing the effects of it would be considered an influencer because there are changing minds in a positive way.
The key word in influencer is “influence” so if your doing dumb things and influencing negative behaviors your not helping the world your actually a reason it’s going to hell, harsh but true.
Sure your latest tik tok probably got 76k views but it’s not the same as if 76k saw you in person. You know, like half the people that viewed most likely won’t care about you. You’re just entertainment to make their day. While you do have dedicated fans that spend money it’s not really worth it in the long run if your niche is dangerous and setting a bad example.
So in closing I feel like influencers need to do better at setting good examples for the next generation. Our parents say we’re the future and if we don’t change this will be our future..
